Part 1: pdf to excel
- Download the NU pdf file: Download
- Search by 'pdf to excel' and go to 'pdf2go.com' and convert to excel
- Open the merged excel>Enable editing; Remove all rows for title (carefully notice the line after each title if a single line was broken to two line or not); Select all rows and columns>Unselect 'Merge & center' from Home menu
- Select Data>Filter; Now filter dropdown will appear in each column
- First dropdown>Unselect Blanks
- Now copy the full filtered sheet to a new one
- Create two blank rows after the first row
- Select first column>Data>Text to Columns>Delimited>Next>Other '/'>Next>Finish
Part 2: excel to seat card
Considering you have a excel file with student list
- Mailings > Start Mail Merge > Labels (30 per page)
- Display all borders
- Write your labels:
Name:
Roll:
- Mailings > Select Recipients > Use an existing list (browse to select your excel file)
- Mailings > Insert Merge Field > choose and insert your labels
- Mailings > Update Labels
- Mailings > Finish & Merge > Edit Individual Documents > ok
Part 3: 6x2 A4 Custom Layout
- New page > Layout > Margins: 0 > Size: A4
- Insert > Table (6x2) > Right-click table > Table Properties > Options > Check 'Allow spacing between cells' (0.1) > OK
- Select table > No Border > Inside Border
Part 4: Custom Label Dimensions Setup
Update fields in this precise sequence to prevent Word errors:
- Mailings > Start Mail Merge > Labels > New Label
- Page size > Select A4
- Number across: 2 > Number down: 6
- Top margin: 0.01" > Side margin: 0.01"
- Label height: 1.84" > Label width: 4.02"
- Vertical pitch: 1.94" > Horizontal pitch: 4.12" > OK
Part 5: Mail Merge to Generate Mass Labels
- Mailings > Select Recipients > Use an Existing List (browse to select your excel file)
- Mailings > Insert Merge Field > Choose and insert your labels into the first box
- Mailings > Update Labels (copies layout across the entire page)
- Mailings > Preview Results (check your work)
- Mailings > Finish & Merge > Edit Individual Documents > OK
